'Change the only constant' as Campden conference helps North American families plan for future
After three packed Campden Wealth Conferences in North America, Campden sold out its fourth and final US event for the year, the 13th North American Family Office Conference.
Held in Boston, the event attracted many of the world’s leading families and predominantly single family offices, for three days of thought-leadership, education, and networking centred around how offices—new and established—can improve operations and maximise efficiency.
Kicking off Monday afternoon with Campden’s premiere Crypto and Blockchain Workshop, families enjoyed an intimate setting to discover how their peers are leveraging the seemingly volatile market of cryptocurrencies along with the broader applications of blockchain technology. Attendees heard from crypto experts, including those from New Alchemy who have been revolutionising the space for ultra-high net worth investors.
Single family offices and partners enjoyed a beautiful reception hosted by Schillings on the 33rd floor with a stunning view of Boston’s downtown. Over wine, beer and tasty hors d’oeuvre, families from as near as across the street and as far as India and China began fostering friendships which would develop over the following days.
Tuesday morning, the main conference began with one of America’s founding families sharing their personal stories and an in-depth look into their future, along with how families ought to plan for generations to come.
“We’re still hearing from members how valuable this event was with over 140 families present—making it our largest North American event to date,” said Brien Biondi, president of Campden Wealth and the Institute for Private Investors.
“One of the recurring messages we saw was the idea of change being the only constant, as families adapt and grow, welcoming each new generation.
“Building off of this key theme was the idea of not just hiring, but hiring right and we’re witnessing some of the largest shifts in family staffing needs than ever before.”
Campden strives to help families engage with peers, experts, and best-in-class partners, to encourage stronger stewardship of their family’s wealth and legacy. Campden will continue the conversation surrounding the changing needs of families in Miami at the 12th Americas Families in Business Conference on 25-27 March, 2019.
